Presenting Cusinera’s newest kitchen helper…..

Finally my KitchenAid Saga has finally ended…..after 3rd replacement…..4th replacement, I’ve finally found a mixer that I can call my own.  As you can see I’ve chosen Boysenberry, I love the colour…different, but not over the top.  After Appliance Surplus, I opted for E & S Trading in desperation…but the first one they’ve sent (my 3rd mixer) got scratches around the base, they have to  send a replacement for me, mind you they did a good job searching their stock for a 98% flawless one.  I concluded now that there’s no such thing as a flawless KitchenAid mixer and I should know=P  My advice for KitchenAid is to bubble wrap their mixers so that during shipping, anything that is loose inside the box won’t have the space to jiggle around the box.  E & S Trading even went to overdrive on finding me my 4th mixer (their 2nd mixer) so that it will arrive by my birthday last month.  I swear….my early birthday present that I bought initially last June….finally arrived (a mixer that I can be happy with) on the afternoon of my birthday.  After this KitchenAid nightmare, the glitz and glamour of acquiring a KitchenAid Mixer has long gone lost its lustre, but there’s hope….as I use BBlicious now, am growing fond of her and I know in the future she’ll (yes, a girl) be one of my major kitchen pal.

AND YES!!!  Cusinera’s one of the foodie freaks that names their KitchenAid Mixer.  Why BBlicious you might ask?  Well…it’s obvious isn’t it?  BB-stands for Boysenberry and then I added the “licous” in the end as BBlicious will whip up some  awesome wicked “delicious” treats=)

I bought a 2nd metal bowl for BBlicious as I find it very handy when am mixing cakes that involves whipping eggwhites separately.  The glass bowl was my main dream but it cost AUD$120+ so I opted for the metal which only cost AUD$61 (did some haggling with E & S Trading).  They also agreed to price match the mixer with other certified KitchenAid online shops…so I’m very happy with the overall result=)

The fabrics that I’ve used for BBlicious outfits were originally pre-cut previously for an old Kenwood Mixer.  As I was not going to use the old Kenwood Mixer, I made do of the cut up fabrics and made BBlicious some covers.

I did some measuring….trimming and sewing with my trusty old sewing machine, and surprised myself with the end result!!!!  Reversible covers…no visible seam edges but please don’t make me explain it as I am still trying to comprehend how I did it…hahahahahaha!  I’ve hand stitch the hem edges of the covers as my sewing machine can’t handle the thickness.  I must say….not bad=)

So there we have it….finally got my KitchenAid Mixer!  Now Cusinera got no more excuse for not baking ;P

P.S  “Dear KitchenAid….to completely erase my pain and suffering why don’t you give me a present…..uhmmmm, a glass bowl perhaps or even an ice cream attachment?”  LOL…as if, they would ;P
