The TRIBE headed out to the Caxton Street Seafood & Wine Festival 2011 this morning. It started at 11:00am and I can tell you now, there were already heaps of people enjoying the festival. I haven’t been to Caxton Street, Paddington for a long time now to tell you honestly…the last time I’ve been there was when the Old Barracks lot is still empty and you can park your car there where ever you want, man I’m so old! But you know what, I’m pretty damn impress on what this precinct blossomed into…chic shops, lovely cafes, new and old hangouts still there. And another bonus, the Barracks Car park offers the first 2 hours free. Where in Brisbane can you get that offer, wish Fortitude Valley Car parks can offer that! We’ll be coming back to check out the shops there soon!
Here are some of Cusinera’s pics for this day:

TRIBE’S FOODIE VIEW:
- What I love about this Festival is that there’s no whiff of cigarettes smoke while you enjoy munching your food.
- When we arrive, there were hardly any table and chairs available…sad to say this event is not really that child friendly. Children needs to go home by 5:00pm. We only spend around 1 1/2 hour as people are getting too crowded for the kids to navigate around.
- The food was passable, wish there were more variety on offer than steamed or deep fried seafood and the ever dependable chips….like Seafood Paella, Seafood Gumbo or even Baked Stuffed Prawns, I was looking for something different.
- I wish personally there’s a stall that offers mocktails (non alcoholic cocktails) or gourmet slushies, would love some with this fine sunny weather today.

ReplyDeletethat CASABLANCA HOT FOOD DISPLAY looks very delicious! and especially the thai stall.
I'm so with you on this one- I just don't get why pizza etc are available when it is supposed to be a Seafood festival! wish there was more seafood and different food too- that's basically why I don't go any more.
