December 2009 just went by like a blur for me, I was planning to feature most of the SILOGS by the end of December but it didn’t happen. From hanging decorations, buying and wrapping gifts, going out (a lot!), eating (a lot!) and cooking (a lot!). Almost forgot….squeezing in cleaning the house from top to bottom before New Year (family tradition), so that positive energy can flow easily inside the house, left me grasping for time. We even put loose change in every corner of the house for luck and prosperity….I know, I know…typical Filipinos! So many beliefs for luck and getting rich. Isn’t silly, Filipinos are religious but we believe in this kind of things. To me, if it doesn’t harm anybody…why not???
This is the only celebration food pictures I have taken last December and it was the TRIBE’s simple midnight snack for the coming 2010.
TRIBE’s welcoming food for 2010.
CHEESY BAKED SCALLOPED POTATOES
RED SNAPPER ESCABECHE (Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce)
Can’t go without Bubbly (Sparkling Wine). Brown Brothers Zibibbo Rosa was not bad, it’s on the sweeter side. Cusinera and Mr. H are not really drinkers, only had about 1-2 glasses max. I have also included a bowl of Greek Salad to convince myself that I got something healthy on the table and Baked Cassava for dessert. We ended up with lots of leftovers….happiness for me as I didn’t have to cook the next day.
So to conclude this short post….Here’s to the TRIBE *toast*, here’s to you all *toast*….my everyone have a good 2010!
