Mr. Adventurous turns 4…….

Mr. Adventurous celebrated his 4th Birthday a couple of weeks ago, and time flies so fast… my once chubby baby with rosy plump cheeks is now a little man, bursting with energy and eager to do things in his own little way.  He tries to wiggle his way out whenever I gather him in my arms and shower him with kisses but still sleeps in his little bed next to ours holding my hand.  From the moment he’s wide awake in the morning till he fall asleep at night, he won’t sit still even for a minute except of course if he finds the DVD movie currently playing engrossing!  He’s the self appointed noisy maker in the TRIBE….full of imagination and mischief and Mr. H have to admit, Mr. Adventurous got it from me but 2x up the notch.

But when Mr. Adventurous is sick, the rest of the TRIBE panics as the house falls silently still….you can tell if he is sick, because he wouldn’t play at all and just lay on his bed the whole day.  Ms. M would be hovering like a little mother hen, planting kisses and fussily tucks Mr. Adventurous snugly.   Aaaahhhh….those silent moments, what would we give just to have the noise back again!

I think, I got Ying and Yang kids….one that is quiet and sensitive, and the other noisy and a comedian…like food, some things are sweet and others are salty and am so lucky I got both.

His special day was celebrated with family and friends.  As usual, he gladly kisses anyone that handed him presents, but normally he’ll only kiss when he knows the person but during his birthdays….it’s wet sloppy kisses galore!  The blowing of the candles and opening presents are his highlights of the day.

Here’s the menu list for Mr. Adventurous 4th Birthday….

MANGO CHIFFON CAKE © BUSOG! SARAP! 2010MANGO CHIFFON CAKE

We ordered a Mocha Chiffon Cake but it was ordinary, we prefer the Mango and Ube versions better.

CHINESE ADOBO © BUSOG! SARAP! 2010CHINESE ADOBO

Chinese Adobo is actually the Braised Beef Brisket in Beef Pares, got the idea for the name from The Beancounter.  I cannot alone call this dish Beef Pares, as Beef Pares involves the pairing of Braised Beef Brisket, Garlic Fried Rice and Rich Beef Broth/Soup.

  8. Wow!Looks so yummy! May I ask with your Almond Jelly with fruit salad. Is it just plain syrup from the can and just add the jellies? Or did you put some sugar or any other ingredients on it? Thanks!

  9. @CH3~ I made the Almond Jelly first, once it was set, I cut them into cubes. I just drained the fruit salad and used the left over syrup for the Pata Hamonado=)There was no added sugar because the A.Jelly already got the right sweetness, even with the drained fruit salad it still produced some liquid but not too much. You can use canned lychees if you want, best served chilled=)Thanks for visiting...
